General information only. Content on this website, including the checklist, is general information and is not a substitute for a professional home inspection.

Inspection agreement. Every inspection is governed by a written pre-inspection agreement you review and sign before the inspection. That agreement controls over anything on this site.

Reports are confidential. Inspection reports are prepared for and confidential to the client, and are released to others only with the client's permission or as required by law.

Scope. Home inspectors are licensed by the NYS Department of State. Home inspections are a visual, non-invasive evaluation of readily accessible systems and components at the time of inspection. A home inspection is not a code inspection, warranty, guarantee, appraisal, survey, or engineering/architectural evaluation. Home inspectors are not permitted to provide engineering or architectural services.
